MINI COURSE FOR DECORATION OF A PAPIER-MÂCHÉ MASK FOR FAMILIES
This “mini course” is almost identical to the one described above but perfectly adapted to the experience we often have with family groups. We have therefore:
  • reduced the theoretical introduction to the essential to also make it enjoyable for small children, adapting it specifically to the family we are working with
  • reduced the total time to 2 hours, while
  • each participant can paint two masks, instead of one.
There are 43 different models to choose from, in all possible categories.

  • To promote knowledge of the use of the mask in Venice during the centuries of the Serenissima Republic, in particular the “Bautta”, the most typical Venetian costume of which the mask known as the “Volto” was an essential part.
  • To personally create a Volto mask.

“LONG CONFERENCES”
The two “long” conferences proposed below derive from a combination of the “mini conferences” and “workshop visit” described above.
The themes covered were chosen on the basis of the most common requests, but we are always willing to change the order or importance of the subjects covered according to the specific requirements and interests of each group.

The “long” conference is divided into two parts with a pause offering participants an opportunity to socialise and find out more.

"LONG" CONFERENCE ON TECHNIQUE AND HISTORY
Length : about 1 hour 45 minutes

Objective :
  • To promote knowledge of the mask makers’ work
  • To give detailed information on masked life in Venice during past centuries.
Characteristics :
The conference consists of two parts separated by a “prosecco break”.
The first part is dedicated mainly to technical information.
The second concentrates mainly on historical information.
