COURSES AND INCENTIVES
NEW!!: From February 2007 we are organizing multi-language courses. Check
Ca' Macana Courses for more information
We have been organising courses on the history of the mask and mask-making techniques for ten years in association with cultural organisations and art schools of varying levels.
INCENTIVES
This experience has led to the incentives we offer tour operators. This sector in particular has developed significantly. For example, Ca' Macana attracted 2542 people between January and June 2002. The smallest group was just 2 people, the largest 99.
The most demanding work, however, was in 2000 with 600 people brought to Venice by the pharmaceutical company Janssen Cilag, who all painted their own mask in a single day. This year, too, we are working with several major international tour operators and have welcomed a broad range of quite different customers: from French primary school children to a group of 45 Austrian doctors attending a conference, and another of seven artists from Kazakhstan who had won a trip to Venice in a painting competition. These consist of:
Mini conferences
Mini production and decoration courses
NEWS:NOTE FOR TOUR OPERATORS
The guided tour of the workshop, which is also a shop, is always possible and free of charge. Groups larger than 25 must, however, be divided into sub-groups. Booking is absolutely essential.
No deposit is required to book a mini course. Payment must be made a month before the booked date.
We are also willing to organise refreshments for groups either before or after the visit. The cost of this is agreed on each occasion.
NOTE FOR INDIVIDUALS NOT IN GROUPS
Ca' Macana can't organize intensive courses for individuals or very small groups till October 2006.
